ABOUT THE CLUB

History

GLTC Be Quick (or simply: "Be Quick") was founded in 1895. This makes Be Quick one of the oldest and still existing tennis clubs in the Netherlands! Our club has a rich history. For example, Be Quick was co-founder of the Dutch Lawn Tennis Association (which later became the Royal Dutch Lawn Tennis Association).

The Gouda club

The club has never left Gouda in its existence, but has moved a few times. First our association was located at the PC Bothstraat, later at the Graaf Florisweg and from 1970 at the Sportlaan in Oosterwei. In all those years, Be Quick has been about people with a passion for racket sports, such as tennis and padel. From young to old, at our association there is a place and challenge for everyone. Our association now

The association currently has approximately three hundred members. It is a club where attention to conviviality (recreational tennis) and performance (competitive tennis) go hand in hand. Many members play competition in KNLTB association (on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The Sunday competition is most focused on performance. Be Quick plays with a number of mixed, men's and women's teams in both the national and district competition. This takes place in the spring and autumn.

Our sports park

Our tennis park consists of five gravel courts, three all-weather padel courts and the clubhouse and is located on the Sportlaan in Gouda. The park is open daily from 07:00 to 23:00 during the season (1-4 to 1-10). Tennis can be played at these times, weather permitting. In addition to outdoor courts, there is a hall with two indoor courts next to the sports park. The surface of these courts is plexipave. These courts can be rented from the end of September to the end of March (including via Meet and Play).
